Remembering Dr. Woodie Flowers, the Father of Educational Robotics

We just learned the sad news that Dr. Woodie Flowers has passed away.

Woodie Claude Flowers was a professor of mechanical engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His specialty areas were engineering design and product development; he held the Pappalardo Professorship and was a MacVicar Faculty Fellow.

We live in a day and age where project-based learning, STEM, and robotics are commonplace. He was instrumental in introducing these concepts to the world.

The thousands of students Woodie’s life has touched are forever grateful and are his living legacy.

He will continue to inspire us all.
